Stravinsky Fountain
This is near our apartment, and even closer yet to the Centre Pompidou. This is called the Stravinsky Fountain and it's full of mechanical sculptures that are continually spraying and squrting water. Unfortunately I didn't stop to take photos, so these don't capture how amazing this piece (these pieces) actually are. Maybe when you come visit me in Paris I'll take you there!
Found this on the web: In 1982, Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely created the Stravinsky fountain in Paris, located next to the Centre Georges Pompidou's IRCAM Music Center. 16 mechanical sculptures inspired after Igor Stravinsky's music gyrate and blow water in a distinctly modern piece.
Mmmmm - Roquefort Cheese
Dear friends in the US, I'm sorry you can't eat the Roquefort cheese (try to find it, you probably can't. This is probably the reason: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/01/28/AR2009012804071.html)
Don't worry - Jason and I will eat plenty for you too, yummm!
Sunset Rubdown at La Maroquinerie
Here are a few shots of Sunset Rubdown - check em out! The sound might be familiar as the lead singer and main songwriter is Spencer Krug of...Wolf Parade and at least three other bands; Frog Eyes, Fifths of Seven, and Swan Lake

KEITH - opening band for Sunset Rubdown
A few weeks ago, Jason and I went to La Maroquinerie in Belleville to see Sunset Rubdown. This band, Keith, were from the UK and they were opening for Sunset Rubdown, they were pretty good.

Jason wine, and Jason (not posing, just eating)
We found this wine at Monoprix (http://www.monoprix.fr/) called Jason, and it was pretty good - and cheap - less than 3 euro a bottle! We had to put it in the window because there wasn't enough room on our table for our food AND drinks, haha. Dinner that night was a delicous radish/broccoli/mayonnaise-mustard salad and a sweet potato with lentil soup - mmmmmmm!

stumbled upon a skate park - Parc de Bercy
France Gall
Watching French TV the other day, there was a great program about 60's french pop and ye-ye music. I was highly interested as this is one of my favorite genre's. I've been since watching all kinds of music videos, like this one. Enjoy!

metro kitty
Look closely! This man has a cat under his arm.
This is in the metro station and this man has accomplished what I've always wanted to accomplish with Pepe - take him everywhere with me! you know, like people do with their little dogs (and sometimes birds and ferrets). Pepe is a people person and I want him to join me everywhere, but he is so skittish! Maybe this guy could take Pepe for awhile and train him to be a traveling cat...
dinner in the kingdom
Yes, this may look like a gourmet dinner from a very expensive vegetarian restaurant but in fact it is one of the many delicious meals that Jason cooks for me. This dinner was potimarron (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potimarron), which is basically pumpkin, mashed with potatos, red lentils and a few other veggies I can't remember at the moment with a side of asparagus, cabbage, and baguette with cheese, mmmmm - and so colorful!

Le Cimetière du Père-Lachaise
http://www.pere-lachaise.com/perelachaise.php?lang=en
We went to Le Cimetière du Père-Lachaise to walk around and practice some songs that we're singing together. I like this guy's look, I hope he forgives me as I forgot his name. Jim Morrisson is buried in this cometary along with some other famous folks- Edith Piaf, Frederic Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Gertrud Stein and too many others to name. Follow the links for a virtual tour.
And for my bow tie friends - now THIS is what a bow tie looks like.
